Diana Sterling (formerly Haskins)

Founder and CEO

505-247-2902

The idea of coaching young people and their parents had its inception in 1999 when Diana had an aha! moment- that perhaps professional coaching with adults could be 'transposed' to working with teens, parents and families. After working with many teens at a local high school and experimenting in the daily laboratory of home life with her own son Jordan, Diana came to a prophetic conclusion. Teens and other young adults could be well served by adults who chose to interact with them using a professional coaching perspective. Later, with the addition of a second "son" (an exchange student named Micky), the home coaching lab moved into high gear. Diana's "experiment" so improved things in her own home she decided to share her parenting-coaching insights with adults who live and work with young people.

The Advanced Coaching Course and the Parent as Coach Approach is the result. The focus is on educating parents, teachers, and others who care for the next generation to coach young people. Diana's award-winning handbook, Parent as Coach: Helping Your Teen Build a Life of Confidence, Courage and Compassion, has been read by thousands of people all over the world who are now using coaching skills as a way to improve their relationships with teens. It has been translated into Spanish and Korean and receives international distribution through ebooks and audio books as well.

The Advanced Coaching Course is the result of hundreds of coaches, educators, therapists, and other human service professionals asking "What is the Parent as Coach Approach and how can I use it in my work?" Diana and her team of seasoned educators will bring to you, the professional, proven tools and techniques for working with parents, other teen caregivers, and teens themselves.

Diana has been a devoted member of the International Coach Federation since 1999 when she received her Professional Effectiveness Coach certification from New Ventures West. With a prior track record as a successful business owner and former film and video producer, Diana founded New Generations International shortly thereafter. As a training and coaching company, New Generations International is the parent organization to three divsions, Parent as Coach, The Academy for Family Coach Training and Vision In Action, a business development program for coaches and other service-based entrepreneurs. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from San Diego State University and is currently working towards a Master of Education degree at Portland State University. Diana is a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner, having studied at Life Design International in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She serves as Supervising and Guest Trainer for all Family Coach Training courses, bringing her insights from a diverse background of trainings and accomplishments.

Her passion is infectious and she is known for her unique curriculum design and engaging, facilitative teaching style. Diana is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Also see www.dianasterling.com.

Dori Klass, Global Director of Marketing and Sales

Admissions Advisor for all courses worldwide. Dori is based in the USA, Pacific Time.

520-742-1951 or dori@doriklass.com

A 22-year veteran of corporate America, Dori is an accomplished and “street smart” business executive and leader with extensive experience in sales, marketing, merger & acquisition integration management, and business development. Anchored in her successes in the corporate work place and her core values, and informed by a rigorous process of self-assessment and personal development, she reinvented herself, renegotiated every critical relationship in her life, and left corporate America to become the anchor parent to her 4 boys. That was in January, 2002.

In 2003, Dori launched her “second act,” joining the ranks of educated, competent, self-employed professional moms and business owners as a professionally trained and certified executive coach and leadership consultant, author and speaker. Passionate about personal leadership and its role in healing and/or strengthening our individuals, communities and institutions, Dori has made it a priority to help people to know themselves, to be empowered, to use their power well and to lead to and bond on their strengths at all times—this is her definition of personal leadership. It is what she believes helps people to come alive and feel appreciated and, as a result, become more engaged and productive in life and at work. She believes that each of us is a leader, at the very least, in our own lives and that these personal leadership skills can be learned by anyone at any age.

She frequently speaks on personal leadership in life and work and on creating the conditions necessary to thrive. Dori addresses both what this is and how to do it in all aspects of her work. She has authored several articles and delivered a number of lay sermons on the topic. She co-created a personal leadership development and empowerment curriculum with one of her sons and is in the process of writing her first book on the subject.

Dori is an active member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), the San Diego Professional Coaches Alliance, the Tucson Coaches Alliance and Toastmasters International. Dori earned her BSE degree in Biomedical Engineering and a BA degree in Germanic Languages at Duke University in Durham, N.C., where she graduated in 1982. She earned an Executive MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Lake Forest, IL in 1997 and began pursuing organizational development and coach training after that. Dori obtained her certification in Organization Development from DePaul University and became a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) in 2004. Dori is a graduate of CTI’s well-respected and life-changing Co-Active Leadership program. Dori is also a Certified Dream Coach Group Leader and a Certified ChangeWorks Practitioner.
